My hunt for a modern, effective, long-lasting file has finally come to an end. After trying a variety of ceramic files, metal rasps, pumice stones, and hard foam, I finally purchased this one. I did not have high hopes, as it doesn’t look particularly aggressive. However, not only are both sides highly functional, it also has the comfiest grip of any file I’ve tried. The only complaint I have is a very minor one: the tone of white is on the cooler side, and I’d prefer something closer to cream.

On the plus side it's easy to clean and easy to hold. Realistically none of these really replace a visit to a professional, but it's OK for day to day maintenance.
